I like having the three cables but all three are too short. If you're using this on a desk with your laptop, they are great but when it comes to our desktop, we would need something closer to 2 or 3ft in length to reach from the back of the tower to the top of the desk.
It is old that people complain they only need one, they knew there were three in the box when purchasing and then they still complain because they got what they paid for, who would have figured that would ever happen.Great product, I would highly recommend. I love having the 3 cords to fit whatever need I have. This is great. A few people were complaining that theirs didn't fit the camera. You get 3 cords because they are different sizes. This swing arm on the flip works very well with my laptop, just not my desktop.
Okay back to the cord, if I only had one short size I would have had it still hanging due to where my tower to my computer is. I decided I would purchase the cords and if they didn't fit I would send them back. The cords work with both. I use the longer cord with my desktop computer that I originally had to plug my camera into the tower part of my coputer and it would have to hang by the arm of the camera while charging or transfering video. They all work fine. I had read all these previous reviews and decided to purchase and try.
I have two flips the regular flip and now a HD flip. I knew someday I would bump it or something and possiable break the arm on the camera.
These little cords are easy to take along and keep the pressure off the USB port arm on the flip. Also great if things are a tight fight where the USB may be located on your computer.
On a practical level, you can find quality branded 1' and 3' usb extender cables on amazon for less than five dollars. I guess you could share the extras with your friends; or maybe buy several Flips to match the colors of the cords. The white 18" cable shown connected to the Flip looks perfect. Cute, but if it is necessary to have the usb extender in the color of your Flip, I'd think it would be included with the camcorder. And this begs the question, if it is about designer matching, are we just getting 2 unmatching cables free with purchase. Hmmmm.
These cords make it easy to hook up your flip without the danger of weakening your flip's little USB arm. If you've got a flip, you want this cord.
